Man of LaMancha is the next community production for Conway's Arts In Motion, which will be at the Eastern Slope Playhouse on May 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm, with Sunday matinees at 2 pm. This musical won five Tony awards, and is adapted from the Spanish masterpiece DON QUIXOTE. The story tells of a "mad knight" who tells his tale to fellow prisoners, while awaiting the Inquisition. He uses his trunk of theater props to spin a play about chivalry and injustice. As a Knight-errant, he sways even the most jaded Aldonza by his idealism. The production has twists and turns, where serious material is balanced by comedy, again rated PG13 for the suggestion of violence.
